The Centre for Urban Research on Austerity (CURA) invites outstanding prospective PhD students to work with us towards a De Montfort University (DMU) scholarship application.
We welcome expressions of interest (EoI) from any area of urban studies, linked to the university’s five priority themes: peace, equality and social justice, creative and heritage industries, lifelong wellbeing, living in a digital society and net zero. Full details of the scholarship application process and the thematic priorities, can be found here.
Applicants should submit an outline proposal of no more than 750 words to Professor Jonathan Davies, explaining the proposed project, its fit with CURA and link to one or more of the five priority themes. The outline proposal should include the project overview, research questions and tie-in to university research themes; explanation of intellectual positioning, interdisciplinary character and ambition; and preferred CURA supervisor(s).
The EoI should be submitted with a CV to the CURA Director, Professor Jonathan Davies at jsdavies@dmu.ac.uk, by Wednesday 2nd March. You will be contacted within a few days if we are able to allocate a potential supervisor and take your proposal forward to the next stage, the full scholarship application. Please email me if you have any queries.
